SitkaSitka Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) Because of it's Russian heritage mingled with Tlingit Indian tribe, Sitka is considered Alaska's most exotic port of call. When you visit Sitka, be sure to tour St. Michael's Cathedral known to have the largest collection of Russian icons in the U.S. and distinctive for it's unusual dome. Alaskan Tlingit tribe culture and crafts can best be viewed at the Sitka National Historical Park Visitor Center. Here you can tour Tlingit Fort and view more than a dozen unique Totem poles. To further deepen your Klingit Clan experience, visit the Klingit Clan House, built around a fire pit, for authentic native dance performances. Wilderness lovers will find numerous hiking trails within a short walk of town. Water lovers may rent kayaks and take escorted tours. Shoppers may find heritage items, arts and crafts at numerous shops within easy walking distance. Top of PageDo you know of a Place that should be included here?
